Westport Park Playground Upgrade

Located within Westport Park on the beautiful Port Macquarie foreshore, the playground upgrade will include a water play area, new play experiences, shade, picnic shelter, connecting paths and landscaping. The project will maintain its existing inclusivity which caters to all ages, with greater accessibility and an extension to parks footprint.

Port Macquarie Hastings Council undertook extensive community consultation in the design of the Play space upgrade. Based on the feedback and ideas of the local community, the Waterplay/splash park pad area is highly desired by the community. Attention has also been drawn to the existing water damage on the site.

Under a design and construct contract, Glascott Landscape and Civil have completed the initial stages including refining the drawings. Site works have commenced with the existing footprint stripped back, site base rough, tank installation, service rough, followed by concrete works. Once the concrete works are finished, foundations will be ready for the installation of splash play areas, finished with soft landscaping.

The new play space extends the existing playground, providing a bigger play footprint in support of the other park features. Glascott are working closely with Council to deliver play space that fulfils needs of the community, both now and in the future.
