This exciting project for Penrith City Council is taking shape, with the playgrounds and water play area equipment now installed.
Situated beneath the new ‘Pavilion, Café & Amenities’ structure, currently under construction by our subcontractor SDL Projects, when complete the play areas will offer active recreation opportunities for children while families enjoy the new cafe, modern amenities and beautiful Nepean River surrounds.
Glascott worked with Marcus Constructions to install an intricate network of services that will facilitate the operation of the water play elements, including a see-saw pump, umbrella jet, pedal pump, and mushroom fountain. The adventure play equipment supplied by Playrope and installed by Star Structures comprises 3 swing sets, 5 in-ground trampolines, various spinners and rockers, sand pit diggers, a toddler slide and a fitness station.
Glascott’s project team are working on simultaneous milestones across a large footprint, which requires effective communication and coordination with other related projects and quality management. The progress to date includes significant earthworks, meandering accessible foreshore pathways, the Pavilion footprint with in-ground services, structural concrete slab and structural steel, playground equipment and deco granite / concrete pavements. They have also completed the new Police Cottage Car Park in anticipation of the new café opening soon.
Over the coming months, the team will put the finishing touches on the play areas, install the picnic shelter structures, and commence on the excavation, subgrade replacement and construction of the new asphalt car park, whilst awaiting the completion of the new River Road deviation.
Softworks have already commenced with a portion of the 70,000 + understorey plants and 400 new trees. Planting and turfing works will continue over the coming months whilst construction activities progress, to ensure a well established landscape at project completion.
Glascott Landscape and Civil continue to work closely with Penrith City Council and the project stakeholders to ensure the Regatta park is delivered to world-class standards for the community.
