Marsupial expands road maintenance service lines

After 14 years on the M5 Motorway, Marsupial Landscape Management recently expanded capabilities to deliver a broader range of services.

Under a contract with new owner Transurban, Marsupial continues to deliver vegetation maintenance while adding complimentary services along the 22km road corridor in Sydney’s south-west.

Routine roadside vegetation comprises mowing, whipper snipping, herbicide spraying, tree pruning and planting, and incident response and emergencies reporting – an integral part of service delivery. In addition, the new services include:

  • Traffic Control that centres around the safety of our people, other contracts and road users while minimising disruption to the motorway operations.
  • Arborist Services including tree management to identify hazards and ensure growth, mulch management including top up and weed control including removal and dye spaying for visibility.
  • Street Sweeping including waste removal and disposal at licenced facilities ensuring hazards are removed and the motorway is looking clean.
  • Roadside litter collection including waste removal and disposal from roadside to keep our landscape assets the road free of litter and debris.
  • Fencing services to ensure the boundary fence that runs the length of the motorway remains functional and intact to stop and keep the road corridor clear for road users.

Works are delivered in accordance with environmental and safety management plans. Marsupial provides site reports to Transurban after each visit that includes recommendations for practical and aesthetic enhancements, and value optimisation for service delivery.

Transurban and motorway users need to feel confident that the road network is managed in a safe and reliable way. Marsupial’s proactive approach is based on timely, clear & accurate communication. They act as an extra set of eyes; taking care of the details fundamental to the daily operations of a road network while identifying and managing hazards.

It’s vital for Transurban to consistently maintain a safe, clean, and sustainable transport corridor along the M5 Motorway. Marsupial understands the role they play in meeting these standards while identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvements in service delivery.
