Changing the gender landscape

The landscape construction and maintenance industries are renowned for having a gender bias and somewhat masculine culture.

The Glascott Group is focussed on changing the landscape by creating opportunities for women across the business, and within the industry.

Led by Group Human Resources Manager Jordan Kennedy, the Group comprising Glascott Landscape & Civil and Marsupial Landscape Management have increased female representation over the past couple of year to 12% nationally, which is 7% above the industry average, with 30% of apprentices now female.

We are changing the narrative, particularly around what it’s like for women to work in construction,” said Jordan. “This has enabled us to attract more females to landscape construction and maintenance roles as we work towards a better balance.”
