Maintaining gardens at aged care communities

Listening and engaging with residents is an important part of our work at aged care communities.

Earlier this year, Marsupial Landscape Management commenced work at Lourdes Retirement Village – a Stockland community on Sydney’s North Shore – undertaking regular landscape maintenance of the established gardens and handstand areas.

When a resident recently told our team about the original concept for the hedges, they got to work on re-reinstating the design. Marsupial’s Team Leader & Horticulturalist Jimmy carefully reshaped the hedges back to their former glory, with the word ‘Lourdes’ proudly on display.

Marsupial’s maintenance program is delivered using The Glascott Group’s 5 Lenses Approach, which focuses on the whole-of-life of the landscape.  We work closely with Stockland and the Lourdes community to develop strategies that extend the life of a landscape, reduce reactive spend, address trends that contribute to deterioration and sub-optimum performance.

Beyond the contractual scope is where we connect and partner more deeply with the community to understand their needs and provide even greater value.
