As part of the Gore Hill Park Redevelopment project, a new nature playground was installed during the sports oval and surrounding precinct construction.

Funded by the Federal Government and the City of Willoughby, the project aimed to improve community sports facilities and open space in the Willoughby area.

The new regional-scale playground included over 15 nature play equipment items, 700 m2 of finished concrete pavements throughout the play area, seating, furniture and a barbeque area. Mass native planting transformed the area into a sanctuary for children and families in the heart of the busy Gore Hill health precinct.
