Clayton Road Linear Park – Level Crossing Removal

Lendlease CPB Joint Venture engaged Glascott Landscape and Civil to help construct the linear park at Clayton Road; part the Level Crossing Removal Project to improve congestion and safety; and provide more open space.

Designed by ASPECT Studio, the landscape project includes parks, sports and exercise facilities, playgrounds and 17-kilometres of walking and cycling path occupying the space underneath the new elevated sections along the Cranbourne-Pakenham rail line.

Glascott undertook construction of sports courts, skate parks, playgrounds and an outdoor gym at Clayton Road, working concurrently across all components.  The scope of works included complex structural concreting, variable coloured finishes, exposed aggregate concrete surfaces along with installation of street furniture, playground and sports equipment.

Being situated on a busy urban thoroughfare meant that safety and managing works efficiency were the priority. The project was completed late last year with the community now enjoying the vibrant new open space.

In similar projects, Glascott is delivering Sydney Metro Northwest – currently Australia’s largest infrastructure project. The scope of works includes installing over one million plants and shrubs, and approximately 8,500 trees at 8 rail stations and 3 stabling yards on the 7km new rail corridor.
