TW: Mental health discussion.
We recently hosted MATES in Construction NSW (MATES) at our Central Coast Sportsfields site for General Awareness Training (GAT) and to learn vital skills to help ourselves and others.
Our team was joined by Central Coast Council and our subcontractors, with the focus on recognising when someone may need support and how to have difficult conversations that can make a difference.
MATES is a charity established to reduce the high level of suicide among Australian construction workers. MATES provide suicide prevention through community development programs on sites, and by supporting workers in need through case management and a 24/7 help line. The MATES program is based on the simple idea that suicide is everyone’s business.
The Glascott Group are focussed on improving mental health in the workplace through ongoing training aligned with our Mental Health Action Plan, fostering open communication, normalising struggle, and taking appropriate action.
